The posted rules
Every line requires callers to be 18 or older, prohibits sharing phone numbers and contact details in greetings and messages, and bans harassment, threats and solicitation. Mainstream singles and community lines also moderate explicit content; adult lines allow more but still enforce the rest. Break these and your greeting is removed; keep breaking them and your number is blocked.
Messaging without pestering
One message per greeting is the norm. Make it specific — mention something they said — and short. If they do not reply, they have answered; sending a second or third message is the fastest way to be blocked. Sending the same recorded message to every greeting in the room is obvious to everyone and gets ignored.
Handling a no — and giving one
Live connections require both people to accept, and either can end one at any time. If someone declines or ends the call, move on without comment. When you want to end a conversation yourself, a simple "It was nice talking, I'm going to head back to the room" is all it takes. Nobody on a chat line is owed a reason.
Being a good conversationalist
The regulars who do well share a few habits:
- They ask questions and actually listen to the answer.
- They are honest about what they are looking for, early.
- They keep it light for the first few minutes rather than interrogating.
- They do not push to move off the line before the other person is ready.
- They avoid background noise, eating and multitasking on a live call.
Respecting the room you are in
Each category has its own culture. A mainstream singles line expects flirtation to stay within bounds. A gay line expects directness and, equally, respect for a no. A Black or Latino line is a community space; callers who are there for the community are welcome, callers who treat it as a novelty are not. An adult line expects explicit intent but still forbids harassment. Choosing the right room in the first place is most of etiquette.

Is it rude to skip greetings quickly?
No. Skipping is how browsing works and nobody is notified. Save your time for greetings that interest you.
How many messages can I send one person?
One. If they do not reply, take it as an answer. Repeated messages are treated as harassment by most lines.
Can I share my number with someone I like?
Not in a greeting or a public message — lines remove those. In a private live conversation it is your choice, once you are comfortable.
What happens if I break the rules?
Your greeting is removed and, for repeated or serious violations, your number is blocked from the line. Purchased minutes are not refunded.
