Before you dial
Pick the right category — singles, gay, Black, Latino or adult — and a specific line from our reviews. Find a quiet, private spot. Decide your greeting: first name, your area, one detail, what you want, about twenty seconds. Have a pen handy for the help key. Check the published trial for the line you chose; you will hear it confirmed on the recording.
Minute one: the welcome
The recording greets you, confirms the line is for adults 18+, and tells a new caller about the free trial. You may be asked to choose a category (for example men seeking women) and to state or key in your location. Let this play through once — the instructions are worth a minute of your trial.
Minutes two and three: your greeting
You are prompted to record. Speak your prepared greeting, listen back, and re-record if it sounds rushed. Save it. You are now in the room and other callers can hear you.
Browsing the room
Greetings play one after another, local first. Skip freely; ten seconds tells you what you need. When one interests you, send a short message — "Hi, I'm Sam from the east side, liked your greeting, I'm on the line now if you want to talk" — or request a live connection. Send two or three messages rather than waiting on one; not everyone is on the line at the same moment.
Your first live connection
When someone accepts, the system bridges the call and you are talking privately. Open the way you would anywhere: say hi, mention what caught your ear in their greeting, ask a question. Keep personal details general. If the conversation is not working, it is completely normal to say so politely and press the key to return to browsing. If it is working, enjoy it — that is the whole point.
When the trial runs out
You will hear a short message offering membership packages. You can buy one then — the smallest is $5.49 for 10 minutes on general Network Lines — or hang up and think about it. Nothing is charged unless you choose to buy. If the line was not for you, try another category; trials are per line.
Frequently asked questions
What if nobody responds to my greeting on the first call?
Common on a first call, especially off-peak. Send a few messages yourself, widen the region, or call back in the evening. Your greeting stays in the room and replies may be waiting next time.
Do I have to talk to someone if they request a connection?
No. Connections require both callers to accept. Decline with a keypress and keep browsing.
Will I be charged if I just want to look around?
No. The free trial covers browsing. You are only charged if you choose to buy a package after the trial.
What should I say when I connect live?
Say hello, mention something from their greeting and ask a question. It is a normal conversation — the line has done the introduction for you.
