This decides the category and eliminates most of the list. Men and women meeting each other: the singles category. Men seeking men: the gay category, which is men-only. Black singles and the urban community: the Black category. Spanish speakers or bilingual callers: the Latino category. Uninhibited adult conversation: the adult and late-night category. Do not spend a trial in the wrong room.
Question 2: What tone do you want?
Within a category, lines differ in personality. Some are relaxed and conversational, some are party-like and loud, some skew younger, some have an established regular crowd. Our reviews describe each room's tone with pros and cons. Read two or three in your category and pick the one whose description sounds like a place you would enjoy.
Question 3: When will you call?
Phone chat is an evening medium and most rooms follow that rhythm. If you are a late-night or early-morning caller, favour a line built around a round-the-clock room — 247 Chat Line is our directory's clearest example. If you will mostly call in the evening, any well-rated line in your category will do.
Question 4: What will it cost you?
Women on mainstream singles and community lines chat free, so cost is not a factor. For men, compare the published trial (30 minutes on most lines, 60 on a few) and the package table. Our general Network Lines run $5.49–$54.99; gay Network Lines $16.49–$219.99, with the largest blocks cheapest per minute. Third-party lines set their own prices, stated on their recordings.
Question 5: How much privacy do you need?

Since trials are per line, try both — a few days apart, at the hour you would normally call — and buy the smallest package on the one you preferred. Can I try more than one line?
Yes. Each line has its own free trial for new callers. Trying two in your category is the most reliable way to choose.
Does a higher rating mean a busier room?
Not necessarily. Our ratings reflect the overall experience described in each review — tone, moderation, value, offer — and we do not publish traffic figures.
